  In-person official selection is sufficient; no win or competition placement required. BIFA Short Section A: one Section A festival confers eligibility. British production, under 40 minutes.

• Oscar Animated Short · Animated Short Film

  Must win Best of the Festival OR Best Animation.

• Oscar Documentary Short · Documentary Short Subject

  Must win Best of the Festival OR Best Documentary.

• Oscar Live Action Short · Live Action Short Film

  Must win Best of the Festival OR Best Live Action over 15 min OR Best Live Action 15 min and under.
